Question power steering pressure line hose

whats up everyone? does any one know how to change the power steering pressure line hose? how hard is it? i need to change mine, because the hose was hitting with the serpentine belt and it cut the hose enough to leak all the power steering oil out. would i need to drain all the coolant out? it seems the hose connects to a pipe for the raideater. are ther any special tools i need? does any one have a step by step guide to do it? oh its a 2000 trans am ws6. thanks in advance.

That's not the pressure line. The return line runs through the PS cooler.

The hose can be replaced without any special tools. If I remember, the return line is held on with hose clamps.

The line's held on with clamps (those horrible spring type, replace with screw type), but you'll probably have to cut it lengthwise with a razor to get it off the fittings. The main PITA part is getting the new hose pushed onto the PS reservoir fitting.

Since that hose is a low pressure hose, you could probably just use a double-ended barb to splice the pieces back together if you want an easy fix.

Can you post a pic? Something else isn't right. That hose shouldn't be able to hit the belt.

Yes, pictures. You have a factory power steering fluid cooler, don't you?

If yes, you need to remove that thing and replace it with an aftermarket cooler. Tales 15 minutes and a philips head screwdriver.
