the left one has a gear out and i have to pull it up at night when i need my lights. i have been doing this a while because i have not got around to fixing it. Today i was driving and when coming to a stop the lights come up as soon as i push the brake. Why does it do that?

Can't tell you why, but these cars do some strange things when the headlight gears are stripped.

agreed...
i just need to fix the gear and see if it goes away. but it boggles my mind because the gear has been stripped for a long time and just today it started.
can anybody explain to me why these cars do this haha this is annoying.

In all seriousness though, it could be caused by the inertia of your braking pushing the arm outwards.

That's what I'm thinking too. I don't think it's the headlight motor itself actually popping the doors open, rather the momentum of the car rolling the doors open-I'm just guessing though, we'd have to be there to be sure...

HAHAHAHA!... Hey, can you post a vid of this? ....

I remember when mine went bad. 4 months later after replacing the gear, the cover to the gear fell off. (The cheap epoxy came loose) When this happened, the other side instantly started having issues. ... I reattached the cover and the other side instantly worked fine. These cars do whacky things!
