Default CODE P0174 and Insanely high oil pressure (120!) Need help Please

Wassup guys

I got the SES light this evening and the code P0714 came up.

Google search says Dirty/bad MAF

but here's it where it gets interesting...On the last oil change I used 5w30.
Its been fine until tonight, the gauge was reading the oil pressure past 120!!!

The needle actually climbs down so I know the gauge is working but it stays up past 75 when the car is off.

Am I flooding something internally? and will it damage something else if I drive the car to a shop?

car in question is '01 camaro.

TIA

The gauge might be working but it sounds like your oil pressure sender isnt.

Thanks for your quick response.

I been driving the car through snow/ice here...could that have broke it or just the subzero temps made it crap out?

Also would this cause the P0174 code (bank2 system too lean) since the sender isn't giving the pcm an accurate reading?

And am I damaging anything by running the motor lean?

I second the idea of the sender not functioning properly. Obviously there's no way for us to verify pressure or the gauge-the only thing is to have a shop double check it. Lord knows I've had to do this on a few occasions, although I always had a gauge reading low, not high. I think if there's no valve train clatter/engine noise you should be good enough to get it to a shop.

As for your code, when was the last time you serviced your MAF? I'd start with trying to clean that, maybe look inside the throttle body too...

Figured out my pegged gauge issue, the electric connection on the fuel sending unit was unplugged.

I guess some piece of snow ice got in there and knocked it out.

No SES light yet, I guess I 'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks myk and Texashotrod
