Default Hood Struts Blew up tonight :(

Well i got off work around 3AM and one of the guys wanted to see the motor on my car, so i went and started up the car and without thinking about how cold it was outside (probly in the single digits) I unlatched my hood, opened it up to show him. Well i let the hood rise up by itself and like a second later i heard a little pop followed by a Tssssss like something was leaking out with pressure and before i could even say WTF the hood came down and fell on my head and i faceplanted right into my own SLP lid in front of some other workers aswell. Of course they all started laughing. Now i have a huge bump on my head and 2 fucked up struts.

Does anyone know where i can order a new set? Are they expensive at all? They worked so bad *** before and now im pissed im guessing they were frozen and exploded when i opened the hood so yea im a dumbass but i wasnt thinking straight. If you guys can help me i would appreciate it. Thanks

You need the wooden broom handle mod....probably one of the easiest mods I've done to mine.

I ordered a set of deck lid supports from advance auto parts. They were pricey, but if you order online and use a discount code (google it, retailmenot.com) it knocks $10-$15 off and you can pick it up at the store. The rears together were over $40 a pair and with a discount I paid less than $30.

If you get them from a local parts store, they should come with a lifetime warranty. Anyone should be able to order them for you.
