2000 Z28 Behind dash fuel gauge wiring HELP!

2000 Z28 Behind dash fuel gauge wiring HELP! Not sure if this is the right section for this or not???
Here's the deal... I bought this car a while back, the previous owner had taken the dash out and gutted it out, cut a few wires, etc etc, and apparently cut the wiring to the fuel gauge as well, I can look behind the dash where the radio is and all that since there is no ducting left, but taking the dash out of the car is going to be a PITA with the cage in the car...
I have the dealer print out of the wiring diagram, but it doesn't really tell me a whole lot at least not where I can understand it... If anyone has had the dash out of their car and knows what I need to be looking for please let me know, pics would be helpful too if anyone has any?
