not another vats question so my 1998 transam started showing more and more flashing security light until i did the resistor thing. i figured it was fixed but i dont drive this thing very much. so went out to drive it again and sure enough that damn light started flashing at me. i checked, double checked, and tripple checked all the numbers were correct. i removed the resistor and checked the resistance at the connector and my key is showing good connection. even when i wiggle and jiggle it. im almost certain its not the key resistance that is the problem.
NOW the question is whats next. do i try to replace the accual module with this? http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...er=310440_0_0_ OR is there a way to repair the module i currently have. im not sure how this thing works but from what i have read on this site is that module sends a signal when the correct value key is inserted. OR should i entertain offers to buy the vehicle from me. what do you all think
