Default Stupid f***ing coolant light....

I know I'm not low on coolant, and it's relatively fresh at that rate, but for some reason today my check coolant light came on. Would it be possible it's on if it's a little overfilled? I used that prestone universal stuff to top off what was in there. The bottle claims to work with any coolant. Could that be the problem too?

Its just the sensor, they go bad all the time. Get a new one.

Part # 5S1449 rockauto.com $37.00

amazon.com $47.00...one day shipping available. Part # 5S1449

OR....if you just don't want the light on, you can unplug the sensor.

Where is the sensor located? I'll probably just do that.

Right under the radiator cap on the back.......the square sensor. Mine has been unplugged for like 7 years.

Yes, the coolant temp sensor is the brass fitting on the drivers side head right near that front spark plug. They have nothing to do with each other.

Yes. Right next to the battery under the cap.
