Default Backfire , then car dies and wont start !

1996 Z28 Camaro Modded 6 speed

So I have a problem that I can not track down and from searching I have found things that I have already tried !

So after having my car sit from the hurricane , started it up drove it to the gas station , put 93 in it and went on my way . Drove the car for about 10 miles and after leaving walmart , getting out onto the main highway , I got up to normal speed like always . I went to shift and car backfired ( car has ran rich for a little while , since mods and all were done ). But car backfired and then died , I coasted into jiffy lube parking lot . Let the car sit , checked under the hood . After waiting for a bit I checked the spark * Which was fine * . It felt like it was starving for Air/Fuel/Spark . Checked all 3 and even sprayed starting fluid into it and still nothing . Car wants to start but it feels like its choking on something . I have no clue what to do .

Things I have checked :
Spark plugs * got spark *
Fuel rail nipple area * had small fuel pour out *
All wires
Spark plug wires
fuel pump kicks on

I really dont know what else it could be ? Could it be electronic ? I just dont get it even if I am using starting fluid and it wont start .

I turn the key and the car will crank and try to start but kinda like stumbles to start !

What to do ? Suggestions Please !

Came to the conclusion that it is the opti spark that is throwing it out of timing !
