Gauges go dead then return on restart

Gauges go dead then return on restart Like the title says... I'll be driving along and look down to find my gauges and their back lights are dead. Being a 6 speed, I can clutch it, shut it off, and restart it to turn them back on. The first time it happened I didn't notice it since it was day time but it didn't cause any other problems to the car. It drove normally but the gauges were just not there.
Anyone else have this issue or have an idea where to look?
BTW... it has only happened about a dozen times since I got the car in Feb.

I did move my under hood fuses down into the hole. I also relocated the battery but I went over it a few times tieing up all the ground issues.
It used to be an auto but I converted it to a 6 speed correctly. This is my second 6 speed swap car but first time I've seen this issue.
