Need help on plugs 6+8 (passenger side)
Every other plug hasnt been so bad.
But i have the AIR pipe off, and i have a 98 so my coil packs are separate, not rails, so i dont want to try finding all the bolts to them.
I tried using a swivel socket, not much help...also a 3" extension is too long and it goes into the body...if plug 6 is being this ridiculous than i cant even imagine plug 8.
already looked over the installuniversity document...not much help

You have to remove the engine from the car to get to 6 and 8.
Just kiddin...........they are horrible, especially with stock manifolds. I have long tubes and I take BOTH 6 and 8 out in 3 minutes.
Lots of people have to buy new tools to get them out, its just different for everyone. Some people even get those two from the bottom, or at least 8 from the bottom. Try these tools pictured below. I use these and its literally a non event, its a breeze to get them out and back in.
#4 can go onto #3 also, without #2, just the ratchet.....I use that combo for #8.

*********And DO NOT tighten the new plugs much at all. Hand tight only, then put the socket and ratchet on them and snug them down a little bit. DO NOT give them the gorilla strength turn. They won't come out. Use anti-seize too. This will make your life allot easier next time.

I was somehow able to get 6 from the top but I had the alternator off and 8 took me forever from the bottom with the starter off cause i snapped it in half but it's doable just gotta be patient. I only needed a double elbow as far as special tools and that was for 8

Just take it to a shop and let the mechanic deal with that last plug. They shouldn't charge but $20.00. But tell them you need to have that plug to inspect it, because they might lie to you saying they changed it....hahaha
Watch them do it, better yet. Make sure they don't climb all over your bumper and fender in the process...or snap any of your sensors around the TB, I've seen guys lay across engines and break them before.

I used a swivel head ratchet for my plugs. I got #6 and #8 from underneath no problem with the swivel head ratchet. The plug wires were tough but keep wrestling with them, they will eventually give. A couple of mine got the spring removed from the heat shield when I pulled them off. I wasn't going to reuse the stock wires so I wasn't worried about it. Keep trying this yourself, you don't know if some mechanic is going to pencil whip the job. The first time is the hardest.
