WTF is in my AC system? ? ?
 

This is in a POS s10 Blazer I just bought to use as a work truck.

I was looking around and just checking out all of the engine compartment. I aired out a tiny bit of the AC refrigerant. Silver looking shit came out. Feels oily, but WTF?

AC still blows cold and the compressor seems fine. There seems to be no leaks and everything seems fine.

Should I just wait for the compressor to die? I never flushed out a compressor. There is no way silver AC oil is a good thing.

Any thoughts?

its the compressor wearing out, Wait for it to go out before you waste money on a flush

Sounds fair, I never seen one do this yet though.


So far this summer alone I replaced a good two dozen or so. They usually just lock up or burn out.


But, I guess shit happens.
