0 psi on compression check, almost no leaking on leak down test???
So im swapping in a new motor in my brothers car, and i saw some milkyness to the coolant lines on the new motor. I wanted to perform some test before dropping it in and wasting a bunch of time.
So i ran a compression check, and keep getting 0 psi. At one point i read 120 in one cylider, now nothing. Another i read 30 then nothing. I ran a leakdown test and it help 120 with almost 0% drop.
Is my testing messed up? I have the engine out, with the tranny mated to it, pulled all the plugs, w/o an intake mani installed. Cranking it over with a starter bolted on and jumped to a running van.

I realized the leak down wont work, the hose from the compression checker has a one way valve. I think thats why its not reading anything, it may be stuck???
ITs a cheap oem brand from splottozone.

got one from a friend and now im reading something. But still really low.
100 in one cylinder, which makes somewhat sense. its a cold dry engine. but 50 in another. Gonna fill it with oil, then drop a teaspoon in each plug hole and see if everything is consistant then.

motor is from a junk yard and comes with warrenty. Im not spending more money to replace head gaskets.
I ran everything with a good tester, with oil in it, best cylinder was 180, worst was 50. Engine is going back.
