Changing motor mounts w/ LT's
I'm an idiot. Did LT's at 85k miles and didn't do motor mounts. Wore them out and I need to replace them. Can I do this w/o taking the LT's off? The Y pipe is welded since its a custom piece w/ magnaflow merge and I don't want to hack it up and pay to have it re-welded. I know it'll probably be a pain I'm just asking if it's possible.
I know most people have trouble aligning the bolts and use the factory jack to push the motor into place. I obviously can't do that with the headers in and I'm just looking for any tips on getting it to work out. Also wondering if people having this alignment issure are removing the trans mount? I would think it'd be pretty easy with that undone but that's just me. Any tips or info greatly appreciated.

I did motor mount install with hooker 1-3/4" long tubes still in place. It was about 5 years ago. I know it was a PITA, but I don't remember enough to help you through anything. I just know it can be done. FWIW I didn't have anything other than standard simple tools (ratchet, open ended wrench, drill, etc). I did not use any tricks like the jack to the side of the motor. I just used a floor jack and raised lowered as needed. I do remember the bolt not going back through very easily though (driver side)

I feel you man. A couple of places I talked to wouldn't even bother with it which is just b/s. I still have a couple places I'm waiting to talk to but if they say no I'm going to have to do it. Should be fun.
