Was having some issues with the HVAC blower in my 2002 V6 Firebird so I decided to pull it out and take a look. See the attached pic for what I saw. To fix the problem, I pulled the cowl off and cleaned out the intake passage. Then used some silicone glue to glue a couple pieces of stainless window screen over those openings. I know the cowl has a screen but leaves were getting in from where it doesn't seal to the windshield. My screen is glued right to the firewall over the openings. I don't have a pic of the screen since it got dark, sorry.

lol damn thats a lot of leaves collected in there. I put a cabin filter in the duct above the blower in my car, works really well with dirt to .

lol well you know its working. i cleaned under my hood with engine degreaser after i used almost the whole can and let it sit for 10 mins and sprayed it out. then when i moved the car it was a pile of mud and leafs lol never cleaned under there. looks show room know.

Myk I WISH mine was clean! I'm surprised I wasn't getting hit in the face at random! Besides, I was always hearing the noise from the leaves. And if I wasn't hearing a 'card in the spokes' sound, the blower was loud anyway. With the leaves out, I barely hear it on high.

Mine was clean as a whistle with 210k on the body, this LT1 was babied before I got it, engine was clean as **** when I did the head/cam swap at 180k.

mine made a crazy vibration noise. i pulled it and found a giant rat probaly a couple years old
