not to scare you, but the same thing happened to me once. The engine hydro-locked and a rod snapped and made some nice holes in the block. Best of luck to you!

Im thinking it got water into it during a storm last night. It did Hydro-Lock and bend rods. I put in a claim with the insurance company but they dont seem to care so it will have to sit for a bit. Oh well i guess its a reason to mod! Gotta find the bright side! The beer in the fridge is still cold and im still here to drink it. Thanks for the concerns. I knew it wasnt gonna be good.

Im assuming it got through the hood seal and got through the intake manifold somehow. Ive read on here that it happens, Im not real sure how. Maybe somebody can chime in that knows more?

But for the most part the intake is below 90% of the hood. I'm thinking maybe he has one of those ftra or ssra intakes and flew through a puddle. I have the ftra & am definitely careful about deep water if I happen to be caught out in it.

Shame that it happened though.

I have an SLP lid. I drove the car home from work that day (no rain) and parked it. It started storming about midnight. There was enough that the lake outside was down 3.5-4 feet. It is full now. I walked outside and hit the key, and it locked. Never had a chance to drive through a puddle. I am a mechanic professionally and know what to check for whenever a head gasket leaks, Mine wasnt. The only thing that even kind-of makes sense is that maybe an intake gasket was weak enough to let water come in when it had as much as it did running by it. It was a steady waterfall running off of the windshield. If I would have driven the car through water that would have been my first comment.
