headlight motor...epoxy or ABS glue

Default headlight motor...epoxy or ABS glue

I"m swapping out the gears and I have some epoxy, but would ABS glue be better????

No, because the housings are not ABS.

Even though they are not ABS, I tried it anyway and it was a horrible failure.

Even the epoxy fails to keep the covers on sometimes. I've since moved on to Cardone motors, which have great screw-on covers. The wiring was crap and I had to re-build all the connectors/terminals, but that is a different story...

IMHO - I would not epoxy them unless your new gears are metal (Brass / Al) - if using plastic "Help" section replacement gears, then they will fail just like your originals.

Newsflash - the metal gears fail often, also. The real problem is with the motor attachment to the housing. If its loose, it will tear up any material put in there.
