Default Need rear glass seal

Does anyone know where I can get a seal for the back window of my 96 camaro? Its the rubber piece that goes all the way around the back glass. I went to the Chevy dealership and the part has been discontinued, so they said to look online and someone might make an aftermarket one or have an extra?

Call a local auto glass shop. They should be able to get you one.

Try gmpartsdirect.com and 1stpontiacparts.com. I recently purchased one for my t/a. Check both, they have different pricing on parts and shipping.

Thanks for the help but still haven't found it, looked on those cites and found a lot for older ones just not mine especially that one part but might be just trying to seal it from the inside with silicone to stop the leak.

Did you try calling a auto glass shop? I can't think that they would have told you that they couldn't get one.

^^^ True.

An auto glass place I went to a few weeks ago to pick up a tube of urethane said they can get them. He and his brother own two F-Bodies and he showed me the new ones he installed on their cars. I think IIRC, he said $80.00 for the new gasket, $150 total to do the install. The glass MUST be removed and then reset with the new gasket on it.

Other glass shops around here also said they can get the gasket.

I didn't see it on the cite but maybe I can use the part number to search it, do you know what part number it was? I also called local auto glass places and they said the same thing that they don't know of anyone who carries it. I can seal it with silicone under the window if I need to but would rather fix it the right way if I can.

Thats the kind of part that is available in some places in the country and some other places they are everywhere.

These guys can get them all day long around here:

R&R Auto Glass
954-882-9001

Paypal them and maybe they'll mail you one.

FYI, dont use silicone to seal the back glass or the windshield - the silicone will break down the urethane adhesive and make the leak worse. Also, if there is any rust, the silicone will accelerate the corrosion...
