Default Wiper motor install..

Is there anything that can be used instead of the specific wiper arm puller to get the arm off of the motor? I read the R&R guide and it all is fairly straightforward, but the local parts stores don't have this tool available to rent... Any suggestions?

Yes, drive into an auto glass shop, they'll probably pop them off for you for free. It takes 3 seconds per arm.

Wiggle them side to side while pulling straight up. You can also wedge a screwdriver in there to break them loose. But DO NOT pry on the windshield. Only twist the blade to slightly break them loose while wiggling. They should come up fairly easily.

driver side took 2 seconds.. passenger side took my glass with it. crack straight up the center now. bah, not my day apparently.

Later: Got the wiper motor I bought on the forums here hooked up.. same problem. Hi is the only way it comes on, sometimes works in low, NO delay options.

What are the odds I also got a 2nd bad motor? =/

sounds more like a problem with the switch then with motors.

hmmm, well how would I go about checking that out or repairing/replacing it? I was assuming since the wipers worked on High and sometimes low and got jacked up on delays and sometimes stopped all-together it was the delay board. This is an interesting twist. at least that also means I have two good wiper motors now LOL.

Any advice on swapping out the switch if that's what's needed? does the console have to come out/apart?
and looking around on price.. anyone know the best place to get one? O_O
