replacing window switch

I am replacing my window switch since the rocker buttons broke. I have full visual of the switch and wiring as I pried the console out. How do I get the wiring off the bad switch?

The black connector pulls straight away from the back of the switch. Be very careful removing the switch from the trim panel as the panel will be brittle and can break.

I have it off of the trim panel. I cannot get the wire connector off the bad switch. Of course with battery disconnected should I try and pry the connector off switch?

No need to worry about the battery. With the door open and the key out of the ignition, there's no power to that part of the car at all.

The switch has 6 pins sticking out of the back of it and the black connector has "pin grip" terminals inside it, which just slide off the pins. You might try wiggling it back and forth or using a screw driver to pry it off.

Here's what the back of the switch looks like: https://www.switchdoctor.net/slidesh...73/873pins.jpg

Here's what the connector will look like once its off: http://images.wrenchead.com/smartpag.../DUS/PT546.jpg

BTW - Here's how to fix the panel if you break it taking the switch out: (If you are careful, you shouldn't have a problem. I was not careful...)
