Default P1416 Solutions?

I got a P1416 SES light time to go to war.

I've been reading and it says this is because of the AIR check valve on my passenger side. A $10 fix... but here at Ls1tech we don't do the $10 fix we use the SES as an excuse to spend money. So what I'm mainly asking is this;

Can I just have a tuner turn off my AIR pump and yank all this garbage out and put a block off plate where the AIR sits? (think 6LE sells them)

Thanks guys,

Try pulling the fuse or relay for the Air! Pump and see if that takes care of it. If it does, then congrats, you has a $14 relay and a 10 amp fuse as back ups.
