such a strange problem

so the strangest thing is happening to my car... when i went to start it, i turned the key forward, all the normal lights came on, i pushed in the clutch, truned the key, and everything just shut off! it didnt even crank. no lights, no radio, no power at all. i hooked it up to my battery charger, thinking it may just be dead, but when i get in and turn the key, still nothing comes on!

Anyone have any idea what this could be? my only other guess would be that it is something to do with the security system (my security light is/was on)

Yeah it sounds like something either ignition, electrical, or security related.

I know that my first guess would have been a bad battery, but since you charged it and your security light is on.. I would say start troubleshooting the security! :D

Loose ground wire or corroded terminals on the battery will do that

terminals are fine, plus now that i had it on the charger for a while, i tried to start it again. lights came on, tried to crank it, and it just shut down

If you have a spare key try it to see if yours has gone bad. There is a little resistor on the key for security reasons that can short out or go open on you. If you don't try cleaning your key with some cleaner.

I don't know if it matters, but the same thing happened yesterday, and then after a random period of time it just started working fine! Cranked over fine, ran fine, everything was normal. The only things that happened was my trip computer reset, as well as my head unit...

Have your battery load tested, it's probably a bad battery or a bad connection at the terminals.
