PS pump Leaking?

I have a 2002 F-body pump and I can't seem to find where its coming from. The hoses are squeaky clean and dry...The fluid accumulates on the Alternators connection. Is there a common seal or something in that area?

mine would get so hott it would boil through the cap and drip onto the alternator lol. i did the power steering cooler mod (fixed that issue) then a cpl months later i needed an alternator :bang:

Check the front pump seal. it's replaceable and I see those leak a lot.

Check the rear housing insert (chrome piece that fits inside the rear housing) there's an o-ring inside that that rarely leaks.

Check the high pressure output line that comes out of the side of the pump. There's an o-ring in that aluminum tube that could possibly leak as well. Could have got cut by the threads during install.

I threw some Lucas Stop Leak in there and the leak got worse!!

Looks like its coming from the back...

Don't do that stop leak crap.

Fix it right, the only other suggestion that I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is the O-ring that connects the plastic reservoir to the pump on the top.

Thats where mine was leaking, even though the O-ring looked fine.

I just pulled it off....It does appear to be the O-ring that connects the reservoir to the pump body, but like you mentioned, the O-ring looked fine tho.

Another possible leak in the bottom of the reservoir were it separates into two pieces? Is there a seal there?

Its definitely not the front or the back seal.

Where did you buy your new O-ring?

Well.....I found the leak!! The reservoir has a crack right at the base of the nipple at the to pump connection...Well shite.....are new reservoirs sold?

Turn 1? What is that? Is it a complete pump? How much do they go for?
