Default Turn Signal Sockets for $3.06 CHEAP!!

Just to give you guys a heads up. The 3-Wire socket used for tail lamps and turn signals is 3.06 each from Rock Auto.

I went ahead and bought 2 of them for my front turn signals. Came out to 9.12 shipped. They normally go for 7.99 each. So thats a hell of a deal. And no im not affiliated with Rock Auto, just thought I'd let you guys know about the deal.

https://www.rockauto.com search for 85881 (part number)

You cut the old wires and connect these? Or does it plug in somewhere?

yep, just splice them together. Just make sure to cover them with electrical tape as much as you can.

Well.. I would use the weatherproof butt splices and then heat shrink over that. Might even use some liquid electric tape around that. Elements wouldn't effect it the least bit.

I have owned four fourth gen f-bodies and haven't had to replace these in any of them. My current car has went through 6 sets of bulbs due to old cracked housings, and all I have had to do was clean them and pop in some new bulbs. Just replaced the housings with Depo housings, used clear RTV around the lense edge, and black RTV around the socket seal.

If I lose any bulbs after all of that I am replacing the sockets and going LED. Thanks for the heads up. I'll grab a set just in case.

Decided to order some 3157 LED's, flashers and new sockets today. Planning on swapping everything out now instead of ruining the new housings.

See this thread and SparkyJJo's write up linked at the end. https://ls1tech.com/forums/stereo-el...t-signals.html

Cutting and splicing should be avoided.
