Default Car wont start **now with a video**

Past couple days my car is finnicky to start.

I get in push my clutch in like normal and I hear the starter spin, no hesitation not slow, doesnt attempt to turn over. Starter sounds normal its just my car wont start.

It will do this over and over and over, and Ive noticed if I get out of the car come back sometimes I get in and it will start right up.

Not really sure what the deal is. This morning I almost gave up when I was trying to leave for work.

Anyways assuming I can get it started I was gonna drive to autozone and get the battery and alternator checked.

Maybe jump the clutch safety switch. Any ideas would be great.

Check the battery first and load test it. Mine does that when the battery is dying.

Thats what I was thinking, I checked and the battery voltage was reading alittle low when I went to start it. barely in the red. It did the same thing when I got to it after work that it was this morning but I couldnt get it to start. We tried to jump it and I saw the volts meter rise above the middle and still not starting.

here is a video of the sound it makes when I try to start it.

I dont really wanna just buy a new battery for it if its something else.

Is the motor actually spinning. By the sound of the video it doesn't sound like the starter bendix is being pushed out.

sounds like that to me, I hear starter spin but not motor spin.

that said, OP you a damn stick, just push start the mother f***er and take a friend with you to push start it when you go to leave the parts store. atleast with a push start you can rule out fuel or spark as any kind of issue.

Stay strong, you aren't the only one...

Either you broke teeth on your flywheel or your starter is not engaging. 99% sure it is the starter

As a check, you can manually turn the engine by the crank or something and then see if the starter will engage.

It was the starter I replaced it today. The bevel gear slides freely up and down the shaft and was pretty eaten up only small light marks on the flywheel. Anyways good to go.

Cool deal. I only charge by the hour and it took me about 1 minute to write the post. So that will be about .20 cents. Thanks for your business. Lol. Keep your head up and stay strong. Hope everything works out for the good.
