Default Hub bearing assy

What are the signs of a hub bearing assembly going bad and needing replacement?

When driving at about 40 MPH, gently turn the wheel left, then right, then left, then right to change the load on the bearings.

If you hear a faint whub-whub-whub-whub-whub-whub that changes in intensity as the weight of the car changes sides, you have a bad bearing. This test will easily identify which side is causing it.

Another method is to jack the car up and feel for play, there should be much or any.
