I just ordered the aFe 31-10031 dry air filter. I'm also gonna try their oil filter 44-LF009. Anyone used them? I've been using Wix. I also use Pennzoil Ultra 5w-30. Once I do a cam swap I may try Joe Gibbs LS30 after I run his break-in oil for 500 miles. Anyone have any experience with any of these?

^^^The aFe oil filter is nothing special (no better than the other premium oil filters out there; Mobil 1, Amsoil EaO 32/64, Fram ULTRA).
The Gibbs LS30 is decent oil, but again, nothing all that great as far as specs go, and it costs MORE THAN many other oils I would consider better due to higher viscosity indices, moly content, and TBNs (various Red Line oils, M1 0W-40, Motul Trophy 300V 0W-40, etc.), unless you can somehow get it for LESS THAN $9.00/quart.

Do you recommend I continue to use Pennzoil ultra 5w/30? I've generally use that or castrol edge since my AutoZone doesn't have castrol 0w30 anymore. I've considered the Mobil 0w40 but I can't always get it.

^^^^If you want to stay with 'on the shelf' type oils, and not go to the 'boutique oils' (mail order; Red Line, Amsoil Signature Series, RLI, etc.), then yes, the Pennzoil Ultra, or even the Mobil 1 EP are still great oils, even the Quaker State Ultimate Durability, and Kendall GT-1 FULL Synthetic (IF you can find it!) are very good, and usually less than the others.

I used to use the old GC back in the day but it got hard to find here and Pennzoil Ultra came out and I switched to that since I could get it a ChinaMart so cheap.
If the Castrol is still good stuff I'll switch back to it...especially at this price. If the M1 is better I'll switch to it and stock up when there's a sale on it in a month or two. I heard Pennzoil Ultra SN isn't as good as the SM was.

Yes, both Vista-Pro and Spectra (at Summit, Jegs and elsewhere) still make reasonably priced LT1 replacement radiators if you do not want to lay out the BIG bucks for a: Be Cool, C&R, Ron Davis, Griffin, DeWitts, Fluidyne, etc.
