Default ls3 vette power steering pulley f body upgrade

I do not remember if it was on this site or another site but I remember reading somewhere that some people wear buying the power steering pump pulley from an LS 3 Corvette and swapping it out with the stock composite pulley on our ls1. I know turn 1 make something similar that is metal and has open holes so you can access the bolt on the power steering pump easier but it's also double the price of what I can get a new ls3 pulley for. Has anybody else done this swap before? is it a direct change out for the stock police or will I have to change something up like get a different belt or something.... I'm thinking about ordering the turn one power steering pump but I do not want to pay double the price for a metal pulley when I can get another one from the dealership for half the price that offers the same thing as they do basically

BTW - The TurnOne pulley is permanantly affixed, so if you do go that route, you'll need to order it with the pump.

It's not just pressed on, and then safety wired??

That's what mine looks like, but I guess it could be permanently epoxy welded on.

They posted a video showing install of a turn one pulley on a factory pump if I remember correctly

Ah, yes. When I had TurnOne rebuild my pump and do the pulley, they told me that they would sell the pulley only for a self-install but they strongly recommended against it. The person I talked to said that they had some folks who had problems with slip on the friction fit pulley, which is whey they prefer to install it in their shop where they can key the shaft.

Well what happens if something chips on the pulley or you have to replace it?

Presumably you could get a new keyed pulley and put it on yourself since the pump shaft is already keyed and the hardware is set up for a tie wire. (an extra measure to make sure the bolt doesn't come out of the shaft.
