So I went to start up my car today and the gauges lit up for half a second before everything went out. When i turn the key there seems to be no power getting to anything (starter, fuel pump, any lights, horn etc.). I checked various fuses, the battery voltage is reading 12.7. What else do i need to check?

Check all battery and ground connections. If everything lit up until you turned the ignition switch to start it then everything died it's most likely a loose connection somewhere. I see it on a regular basis at work.
