Security light stuck on! Turns over but no start!

Security light stuck on! Turns over but no start! hey everyone just got a 98 camaro z28 with a 5.3 swap and went to start it the other day and it just cranked and coughed like it was trying to start but it wouldnt catch. then i noticed the security light was staying on. anyone have any ideas? tried the vats bypass and still didnt work. NEED HELP THANKS!

How did you bypass vats? if the light is still on and your car still won't start you either didn't bypass jack crap, or your bcm might be in need of repair/replacement

Double check the resistance readings on you key and the resistors you used to bypass VATS, if that checks out unplug the BCM and check the resistance at the plug there to rule out wiring problems. If all of that checks out my best guess is that it's the BCM. You did put the resistors between the wires going to the BCM and not to the ignition cylinder right?
