which one for 2000 ws6 ls1
gm says gf578
the one that came off car gf627
the one i got from advanced auto parts gf 578

changed car takes two key turns to start

I agree with the GF578F.

GM package part number for the GF578F is #88915468. This is correct for the car in question.

Unless you bought the car brand new, how can you know if the filter you pulled off is original and correct? Someone may have changed it with the wrong one before.

Good enough reason for me
I'm just asking because I had a 96 Sierra and I changed the oil and bought the filter the book said to get. What do you know.. Doesn't fit. I just replaced it with the same filter I took off the truck.

RIZE from the grave. Just for reference, I took a GF627 off of a car I just got from my father-in-law. 47K miles and that's the fuel filter that was on it. I cannot say it was never changed, but with that low of miles it might not have and would be original possibly. AND in case you find this thread GF578 and GF578F are the same fuel filter. One is a bulk purchase the other is in the box off the shelf.

I have an after market in line fuel filter installed every 15K. I have not had one issue with them.
