Fan stays on when car shuts off

So , when I shut the car off the fan stays on for a few minutes and then eventually shuts off. Does this sound like I've got a bad relay?

Sounds more like you have a tune from the previous owner to help the engine cool down.
Does the car have any mods?
Does it do it every time or just when it gets hot?

Thanks.
I'm the original owner.
The only mods are : hooker shorties , slp lid , new clutch
it pretty much does it every time I drive the car now. Hasn't always been like this. Just started about 6 months ago.

Do you have a scanner to read actual coolant temp prior to engine shut down? The factory temp gauge is not accurate nor adequate for this test purpose. I'd start by checking this reading with a scanner, and my next actions would depend on the results of this information.

Also, have you checked the basics, meaning coolant condition and coolant level?

I don't have a scanner but I'll go get one and test everything out. Thanks

The stock OEM tune keeps the fan on for awhile after the ignition's turned off if the temp is >= 235F. Mine would easily hit this temp after turned off. Not really optimal for the battery, but maybe reduces some heat soak issues.

Do not remember what the stock settings are, but I have mine set to run 180 seconds if coolant is above 195.
