bump stops and what is that?

since I have all 4 wheels off doing a side project (will let you all in on it later) but thought Id check out my bump stops(or lack there of) as you can see 1st pic pass side is loose, 2nd pic drivers side is completely gone, and 3rd pic, what the h*** is that? its not on the drivers side, dare to think whats growing or whatever it is.

Looks like an old wasp nest or some other similar species. Just knock it off

Looks like the old Styrofoam out of the bump stop got wedged in there
