1995 Trans Am Shuts off when taillamp fuse is pulled
Car is a 95 Trans Am that I picked up several months ago. Car doesn't have interior lights or dash lights. While troubleshooting this I pulled the tail lights fuse then the car has no power. Put the fuse back in and the car fires right up. Pull it out and the car dies. Car has a MVB TH400 swap in it and was a A4 before the swap. All done by previous owner.
All other fuses are good in car and under hood. All grounds that I can see are good.
Any ideas?

Calm down guy, it's not a very common problem you have. You might get more help posting in the LT1 section.
Which "lights" fuse did you pull? None of them should kill the engine anyway, unless the previous owner wired something strange up; in which case you're opening up a whole can of worms. Does it have an aftermarket alarm?

Well I got the dash out and the whole front end torn off and nothing is disturbed.
It is the tail lamps fuse also not the headlamp fuse. @nd down in the interior front fuse panel.
I was hoping it was a corroded central ground but all look to be good. Only other thing to me could be the Fuseable links.
Also the tail lamps do work but dim the brake, turn and flashers work well. So it is in the tail lamp section wiring.

The tail light schematic doesn't show any connection in common with the ignition of the car other than the battery source. Not sure why pulling the fuse will kill the car. The stop lights and turn signals are powered from the same fusible link as the tail lights. If they are working, your tail light problem is not from that. You mentioned the interior and dash lights are also not working. The headlight switch controls all of three of these lights. Have you checked the switch for proper operation? Do you have power at fuse #13 in the IP fuse block with the light switch on? I've attached copies of schematics that may help tracing your problems.

I have swapped in two other headlight switches from working cars and they all act the same. The light in the switch lights up but no backlights in the dash.
I will check that fuse tomorrow as I have been hitting it all day. Thank you for the schematics.
