I'm in the middle of can head swap. The valve covers off the 799 heads will not accept the oil filler neck (dorman 917-413). Also my oil cap from the old 241 heads don't fit the new neck. So I tried to find the difference between the two different valve covers. It seems the ls1 cover has one notch at the 12 o'clock position to accept the oil filler. The 799 covers have two notches.
