Default 2000 SS Occasional No Start

For the last 1.5 years of owning this car (2000 SS 6-speed) about once a week I’ll turn the key over and just get a single “click” then all the power in the car goes out (radio, lights, dash, etc.) and if you try the key again nothing happens. Until you jump out of the car, and wiggle the battery connection ever so slightly. Then it’ll fire right up....very strange. I put a new battery in, connections are perfectly clean. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Check all of your connections and grounds.

Disconnect the battery and make sure the connections on the starter are good clean connection and make sure the ground strap on the block next to the starter is a clean connection.

Its also possible one of the battery cables is broken inside that you can't see. Probably right at where the cable attaches to the battery.

The side terminal batteries are very prone to corrosion at the terminals, inside the plastic boots of the connectors where you can't see it.
I changed to a top terminal battery, much easier to keep corrosion-free.
