Default Grinding when I知 drive

So recently when I知 in drive when I first take off I can hear a grinding or popping kind of noise. When I知 sitting st a light with my foot on the break it痴 the same kind of grinding and popping noise. It usually does it once the car is warmed up. Once I put it in neutral or park it stops and sometimes if I go from park back to drive trying to listen to it again it just stops. I致e popped the hood to try and listen to it and I can稚 hear it. It seems every time I get someone to put it in drive for me to hear it it just stops. It comes from the left side almost sounds like it痴 coming from right behind the pedals almost. Any direction or help is appreciated.

Could your exhaust be rubbing on the underside of your car? That can make all kinds of weird noises.

I cracked my torque arm and it would do something like that. I would just get under the car and start looking at the drivetrain for any broken or cracked parts.

2x6s helped me when I was in apts.

Drive up on them, gives you a little room to wiggle under. Its tight, but you can see whats up.
