Default HVAC issue-doesn’t seem to be a vacuum problem

2000 Trans Am.
Having issues with the heating cooling system. When I turn it on it blows cold air through the dash vents. Then a few minutes later or after I switch to defrost or floor, I can’t get it to blow through the vents. It only blows floor and defrost. Also, the fan sounds like it is going fast but the airflow isn’t that strong.

I checked the vacuum lines which seem to be ok.

I pulled the 3 way check valve. It seemed to be not functioning properly so blew on it and it seemed to work better. No change to the hvac operation but my car seems to idle better/smoother if that makes any sense.

Ive ordered a new 3 way check valve and will replace it as soon as it gets here.

Any thoughts about this? A thread a few below mentions a fix by replacing the “mode actuator” but we didn’t get a reply with more details. Please help!
