Have you already checked your battery connections? Wires going to the starter still connected tightly? Does the dash stay lit up? radio stay on when you turn it over?? It could be a number of small things, or your starter may have died.

Maybe its his valve covers that are hitting his valvetrain..... :jest: :offtopic:

Seriously thought...this happened to me once and it was the connections to the battery....wasnt getting a good ground...check all the simple stuff like engine ground...coil wire being plugged in. what kinda tranny is it? maybe u could pop start it (last resort) if its an M6

I wish you were in Texas, you're fuckin prick, and I'd like run that OOOHHHH mid 13second car of yours. I allready appologized more than once and you keep pressing the issue. And SlowTA is not stupid I'm sure he already did check all the connections first and if he didn't someone already told him to. So if want to chase me around and talk shit PM me and I'll give my AIM name...or are you only quick witted enough to flame someone when you have time to think about?

I got bad bad info on the valve covers... I remember now why they were supposed to be taller. My buddy told told me the r/r's wouldn't clear the "baffles?" on the stock covers. He is this big LT1 gearhead, so I got some from him. I asked him about it today...he laughed and said he just wanted to get rid of them. At any rate that was :offtopic: And if the car will turn over and not start, he's checked everything else, hhmmm. Do you know what happens when the optical eye in the opti goes bad? It won't fuckin start! That is not bad advice. Now I realize I may have read his question wrong, so I widthdraw my statement if the car is not doing anything at all.

Hey man no hard feelings....I just hate to see a Newbie get discouraged on a swap because of something thats not for real. It's cool tho man...just go whupp your buddies ass who sold you the valve covers...lol.... :offtopic: Is the car still not starting man? Check the computer and all wiring leading to it...cuz that could be a problem

well ive checked everything got a new starter for it checked the battery connections cleaned them real good. its not opti or it would try to crank, but would'nt turn over already had that problem. what about VATS anybody know anything about that maybe thats why it won't start? i dunno

S8ER95Z Sep 26, 2004 11:15 PM

Im thinking the ignition switch..they do have a habit of going bad.. I melted 2 of them..had to replace the wiring harness and all.

I agree i think i would look there as well. If it is not giving you any response and you have a good battery. Hey what kinda power are you getting with your 306 s8er95z. Do you have ported heads, cause i thought you have to have them with a 306? :offtopic:

S8ER95Z Sep 27, 2004 01:03 AM

Still untuned, stock heads...few guys are seeing up to 350rwhp on stock heads.. so you dont have to have ported heads..but it would be ideal. see the kills section for a relative idea of how its running... its nothing to brag about right now :(

My understanding of vats is the secutiry light on the dash with light/flash?? I also though the car would start but now continue running for a certian length of time. Hmm..ill look into Vats and let you know.. I would check into your ignition switch..just in case..my car did all kinds of little things.. even if the switch itself is good it can still move itself just out of reach of the metal rod. That would give you everything but the ability to start the car. Good luck..this stuff is frustrating!

BizZzatch350 Sep 27, 2004 09:03 AM

If the Vats is the problem, the security light will stay on.

Opti doesnt control the starter. Even if the opti was bad when you try to start it, the car would crank all day but never fire.

Yes I know and that is what I thought he meant...I didn't realize that he meant it would do nothing at all ...read too fast brain too slow, Know what I mean? I realized that after I got flamed for it. He was right to do so lol
