Default Car Will Not Start

I was driving my car the other day, and when I came to a stop sign, the car died. I pushed it out of the road, and tried to start it again, and it fired right up. I drove it home, pulled into the garage, and tried to start it again, and it would not fire. It would turn over, but would not start. I tried resetting the computer, but that didn't work. I went out the next day, and it started. Now, two days later, it will only turn over. What is wrong with my car? Thanks.

Humm, when you turn on the car, without cranking, do you hear the fuel pump buzzing for a couple of seconds?

Yeah, the fuel pump is kicking on. My brother removed one of the spark plug wires, and tried to start it. He said that it wasn't getting any fire from the plug wires.

could be tons of things, and I hate just tossing random ideas out there because people here are just dying to prove each other wrong, but you may want to give the crankshaft position sensor a look. I just resolved a problem for a friend and his T/A with similar symptoms.

Could be a relay going bad. A friend had the same thing happen to him and it was the relay.

I was thinkin the same thing.

A friend of mine launched his car at the trach the other night and it died. Pulled the lid and he had a leaf in the MAF lol. Check everything.

The Crank position sensor wires are located on the pass side fender well in a bundle with the starter and 02 sensor wires.
The harness for the CPS plugs in above the starter and it has 3 wires.
You will have to remove the starter to access them.
If you have longtubes then there is a chance they may have gotten a little hot. If they look damadged you can replace the damadged portion of the wires.

look all around for wires that may be rubbing against metal and shorting out.

Did you check your fuses?

I am outta breath.

I have the exact problem as him. The only difference is mine will start at random when it feels like it and runs perfect while driving but wont fire at all other times. It has only died once while driving.

Sorry to hear your having problems but glad to hear Im not the only one.

Mine is fixed. My ignition relay was bad. I first switched the starter relay and the ignition relay, and that fixed the problem. So I just bought a new relay, and everything is fine. The part is only about $10.00

Mine was the dang relay as well. It cost me $115 to get it out of the dealership service. Sure wish I would have read your post earlier!
