Try taking the battery cables off and cleaning them, then try it again.

how do the cables to your starter look?
if theres no power to the starter take a electrical tester and find the point where you arent getting power

they are good too the big wire is getting 12 volts like it should but the small wire gets nothing when I try to start it. when I try to crank it it should be getting 12 volts also.

the small wire would be the neutral safety switch correct?
the neutral safety switch may be out of adjusement.. its under the housing near the shift lever

I don't know if it is our not. its purple though. I did'nt check the saftey switch is that on 6 speed cars?

no then you would have a clutch interlock that prevents you from starting the car without the clutch engaged fully look around your clutch pedal and see if you can find it i think there is 2 switches the interlock switch would be the one with the long plastic tube looking thing you can bypass it to test but i wouldnt recommend keeping it bypassed if thats the problem since you could run over someone when trying to crank the car if you forget to depress the clutch

i should have asked if it was a stick or automatic my bad :bang:

do you have an aftermarket alarm with starter disable? i've seen 2 cars where the starter disable function stopped working, something went wrong with the brain.

I checked the lock and key but what about the ignition switch. do these cars have them because I did'nt see it when I took off the steering wheel. That may be a stupid question ,but on my friends truck the ignition switch was right there by the lock and key switch
