Car won't start This issue first happened about a week ago, just after a highway drive on a hot day. A few minutes after arriving, I went to start the car and it would not crank. I thought it might be a bit of battery drain (meter read ~10V), since I had the stereo and AC cranking in the heat. After an hour, I went back out to see if I could jump start it, and it turned over on its own. No problems then for about a week. Now, I went out to start it after it sat for a couple days, and it won't start at all. I can't jump it, and the battery is charged. All the dash warning lights seem to go through their normal start sequence, and the Service Engine light does not stay on. I hear the fuel pump running, but it does not crank at all. What do I need to do to find the cause? Is this a starter, opti, or PCM issue? Thanks for any help. This is on a 95 Formula with bolt-ons and pcmforless. |
Check the starter selenoid, make sure it still has a good connection. Also check the PCM IGN fuse. It could feasably be the opti...in which case that sucks. |
also check the battery cables. i know in my formula every once in awhile the negative cable gets a little loose and the car wont start but the accessories are still able to run. make sure they are all tight and then work your way back to the starter. |
