Magnecore's. As for the plug, have had great success with Autolite 103's (.041 gap & old racer's choice for plugs). Recently have gone to E3's (non-adjustable gap) which are also dong a great job. BTW, the 103's were one temperature range cooler as are the E3's (head/cam).

The point being made is that plugs & wires can restore the power capability of the motor. By themselves, plugs & wires do not add power. So, what happened was you restored power that had been lost with your previous set of plugs & wires. Probably drove a little better on that day also as many variables contribute to ET's. Changing your plugs & wires was a great choice & you benefitted from it.

I have the time slips to prove it.

I had Taylor Thundervolts on mine and was really happy with them until I tried to do a plug swap. Three of the eight came apart, even though I was careful to grab them by the boot and twist/pull. I went back to a set of OEM plug wires and haven't looked back.

That's for labeling the wires, there should be 8 small white numbers that come with it as well. Place the "little blue stick" on the wire and push the number onto the wire.
There really isnt't a point other than to keep the wires straight. They are interchangable anyway.

I have had good luck out of my MSD wires. I bought them cheap off of a 5.3 truck owner who was trading the truck in for a vette. The only problems I am having with the MSD's is when I take them off and put them back on. It is hard to tell if I have them on the plugs good. Also I have to be careful not to let them rest on the headers. If I were buying new wires I might looking into some type of wires that would not melt on the headers. As soon as I put the MSD's on I could tell that they smoothed the idle and I am getting a little better milage.

The MSD's have to be pushed VERY hard onto the plug, and you have to literally "feel" the slight *click* that it gives once its on the plug. Make sure you push hard enough to get a solid seal. I didn't the first time and I threw an error of multiple cylinder misfire. After your install if the car doesn't sound or feel right, turn it off immediatly and check your wires.

My car has 5 MSD wires and 3 stockers. I've always talked about replacing them so they're all the same but I always find something else to spend the money on but they seem to be working pretty well so far. I think that just about any wire should be fine on these engines.
