Electrical Problems
Electrical Problems I just got a 99 Z28 yesterday morning. Well the first thing I notice is that the power locks dont work. And whenever you start the car, the headlights and gauge lights will be on, without being turned on. Whenever the car is running w/ the lights on all of the lights on the car kinda flicker (headlights interior lights, turn signals, etc).
Also my dome light and map lights dont come on at all. I'm thinking this is all related but have no clue where to start looking?

It's located behind the glove compartment.

The most likely cause is probably a loose/damaged/shorting wire somewhere; apparently the BCM needing to be replaced is much less common than having wiring problems.
The lights flickering when they're all on is probably mostly unrelated to your other issues; many people have problems with that, which can be stopped with a more powerful replacement alternator.

The lights pretty much stopped flickering. The guy I bought it from put the wires under the window so when it rolled down it cut into the wires and I think they crossed and shorted out the BCM.
