do i need a new water pump? i have been having some problems with my cooling. i installed a new stat and manual fan switch, but it seemed like the fan switch was doing nothing. on the way home from my doctors appt. when ever i stopped the temp would sky-rocket, but when i would start to accelerate it would drop like a rock. i even at a stop light popped it into park and kept it at 1k rpm and it stayed kooler. i also ran my heater and that made it increase much slower. so i think my water pump is going out. when i opened it up to put the stat in i noticed that the water was really dirty, almost black inside the pump, even though i had the radiator flushed about 2 months ago. so am i right about need the new water pump?
