Default Turn Signals?! Wtf...

hey guys, wasnt sure really where to put this, but here is goes. Okay, so randomly while im driving, i relize neither of my turn signals are working correctly. The orange lights are on, but when i click on the turn signal, like to turn right or left, the light just lights up and stays on, it doesnt flash... So I tried the hazzard lights, and they flash like normal, no problems there. I just changed the bulbs so i know its not them, even since they still light up. Im thinking maybe a fuse? Im going to check the fuses tomorrow, but i was just wondering if anyone might know specifics on this before I go on a scavanger hunt, thanks.

If it were a fuse, they should not work ever, not just work intermittently. If both turn signals fail simultaneously, and the DRL's still function, my guess would be the relay.

The same thing just happened to me a few weeks ago. I changed the relay and it fixed the problem...for a few hours. When the turn signals come on and dont flash I just wiggle the relay and they work for a little bit. I'm thinking I have a loose connection somewhere. Where do the wires go after they come off the relay.

Screw those thermal bi-metal flashers. Spend a couple dollars more and get an electronic one.

Dear SEMP3RFI the problem you are having is very simple. One of your light bulbs are burnt out and just turn on your turning signal on each side and look around your vehicle
and you should see some of your bulbs are burnt out. If you have more questions e-mail
me at rzeszotarski10@hotmail.com.

I don't think that is the problem. I have had that problem before and now im in the same situation. My running lights work and are on constantly but my blinkers don't. I have also checked for any other burnt out bulbs and have found none.

Should just be able to replace the bulb and be fine.

check all your bulbs with turn signals on, and i'm pretty sure DRLs are different then the turn signal. my bulbs burn out immediately if i put in the apc colored blue bulbs. ambers are fine though? i'm trying led's next

Turn indicators and running lights are the same bulb; however, turn indicators run off a different circuit, with a relay in the circuit (that damn "clink-clink-clink you hear every time you turn on an indicator). Stock bulbs have two filaments, one for the DRL's, one for turn indicator. To check you'll have to pull the offending bulb's holder and visually inspect the bulb. Not too hard, the access panel for the front indicator is directly in front of each tire, a 10mm socket will get the screws out. Then, reach up to the back of the signal housing and screw out the holder, it's a twist and pull type holder, grey with two wires coming out the back. PM me for more detailed instructions; I changed out the entire turn signal assemblies on the wife's 01 WS6 a few months ago.

It could be the bulb. It could also be the light socket itself. These are notorious for getting corrosion/rust inside and crapping out. I just replaced one last week. Try replacing the bulb first. If that doesn't fix it, go to your local autoparts store and see if they have the socket. I got mine for about $6 at AutoZone. Very easy to replace.

Alright, so this is what i found out while screwing around yesterday. My left blinker, doesnt blink at all, it stays on, but wont blink, even when i turn the hazzards on. ive come to the decision that its the nasty coroded socket that the bulb is in.. Im going to try and clean it out, if not, im going to have to splice a new one in, i'll let you know my course of action when im done.
