Shes Leaking!

ok well this might be the wrong place to post but I post mostly in here and I figured itd get more exposure....

My t/a is leaking coolant like a sob and I cant figure out where it's coming from, havent had it pressure tested yet cuz I'm broke, anyways it leaks even when it hasnt warmed up (ie: when I start it to move it). I dont even drive it everyday and this pisses me off that it does this when I dont even rag it out. I havent taken any components off at all it just started leaking all of a sudden. anyone got any ideas, I have to get this fixed before saturday for the tx state fair Fbod show!

ok it was the water pump gasket on the pass. side I got it all torn apart and the gasket was stuck to the block when I pulled the pump and I didnt see any silicone, any reason for it? Is there a way to tell if my pump is broken or do I just have to throw it back on and see if it fixed it?

No reason for silicone on the gasket anymore, the way to tell if the pump is bad, look at the weep hole (small hole in the bottom of the pump) does it show evidence of leaking coolant, if it doesn't likely the pump is ok

dont need silicone for the gaskets?

When the water pump was on the car, if coolant was coming from the gasket then it could be as easy as swapping them out/RTV or whatever...but if coolant was coming out of the weep hole then you need a new pump.

Why do they call it a weep hole? Because you cry when you find out how much it costs to fix...corny joke I heard where I used to work.
