This thread should be changed to which Tune Up is easier to perform, all of the results are being based on plugs & wires everything else on the F-body cars are pretty much the same.

My LS1 is easier to work on than my thirdgen....LT1's get a bad rep from the opti. I love the gaskets and the fact that a cam change doesn't require removal of the intake. Did longtubes on my thirdgen and LS1 and the LS1 was by far easier. Didn't even take the plugs out..

i have to work on both as well as my thirdgen.
thirdgen easiest for most things, lt1 is ok for some stuff, ls1 havent really did too much but it being so new at least things dont seem to be completely froze up on it and so forth.
the 4th gen engine bays are tighter but you have to live with it

I would not say the LS1 is an "Easy" motor to work on by any stretch. But I would rather work on the LS1 over my 3rd gen, and my 3rd Gen over the LT1.
These are all with headers mind you!

I've had both, modified both and there's no comparison. I could do a heads/cam and headers swap on an LS1 in the time it takes to remove the stock manifolds on an lt1. And the LS1 in the Vette is about as easy to work on as any old school car. With a freind I did a heads/cam/headers/intake swap in about 12 hours.
