Default Changing from Conventional oil to Synthetic?

My car has always had normal motor oil in it and I plan to put synthetic in when I change it's oil.
Is there anything special I have to do to this?

no, but you might develope some leaks. my 2000 formula had 28k miles when i bought it, and had regular oil its whole life. i switched to synthetic, and within a couple days the oil pan gasket started leaking.

aside from that, you don't have to worry about anything.

If the engine has tons of miles on it (over 100k) or you know it has sometimes gone too far on it's oil changes, then it's wise to run an interval with Auto-rx in the engine first, to clean it out.

What is Auto-rx and how do you use it?

It doesn't hurt the motor to change from conventional to synthetic, but out of the full synthetics, my choice is Castrol Syntec, or mobil 1 syn.
