Question Oil Pressure Question

Hello everyone,
I just put on a 90/90 intake, tb this past weekend, and when I took my stock intake off, I had quite a bit of oil/gas blow back inside it. It was just a nice coating, nothing more.
I'm wondering, is 80psi oilpressure normal at WOT? 45-50 at idle? I have a 2001 WS6.

Thanks,
Haans

my guess is the PCV system. I had that problem too. I changed TB's and was alarmed at the amount of oil pooled behind the throttle blade and inside the intake. I bought an AMW oil catch can right after that and most of that went away.

80 at WOT and 45-50 at idle is sweet. how many miles on the car?

My car idles at just above 40 psi hot and 70-80 at WOT.

u need a new pcv valve. This keeps oil from the crank from going into the intake (or something like that). older cars used to have it just drain onto the ground... but now greenpeace would be on our asses in a heartbeat (and for good reason :-p). Just pick up a new one from any autoparts store for like 2 or 3 bucks. Its on the driverside valve cover.... pull apart the hoses adn it should be right there.

Actually, when I checked it again, its actually about 56 psi at idle, but who knows my guage might be off or something. The car has 37K on it.

I'll try replacing the PCV and see if that helps.

Thanks a lot!!
Adrian
