Default Isn't it supposed to be Royal PURPLE??

So I put royal purple motor oil in my car about a month ago and I checked it today to see if it was still full...

Well it was full, but the oil wasn't purple anymore. It didn't look black, or even dirty, but it was no longer purple. It looked goldish like clean new reguler motor oil. Is this supposed to happen?

You got screwed out of your money. lol. JK, I don't know about that one. Maybe the purple is only a dye and it gets burnt out over time.

It doesn't stay purple. Only when its out of the bottle. I used RP for a couple years, but now switched to m1 5 40 after learning the RP tends to thin out.

I use RP in all of our cars. The reason that the color changes is due to it's ability to keep your engine clean while lubricating it! My Dad sells RP for industrial air compressors and most of them run 24/7/365 and he's never saw/heard of it thinning out...

A few years ago I put Royal Purple in my wife's car. As soon as I had idled the motor for 30 seconds, then shut it down to check the level, the oil was no longer purple on the dipstick.

Actually it does thin out. One of the reasons I stopped using it was because in only 2400 miles their 5w30 thinned out to a 5w20 in my wife's car, according to the oil analysis reports.
